When I was growing up I spent a lot of time at my uncles farm. My family would go just about any weekend we could get away to see the rest of the family and flee the city life. This is where I learned to shoot a Red-Rider B.B. Gun and ride a motorcycle. Some of the fondest memories though are of the stories my grandfather would tell. He was a man who had really lived, and had experienced life in ways most of us only dream.
He built houses for a good part of his life as did most of my family and worked for many Detroit machine shops and railroad yards during World War 2. He was a master craftsman and could churn just about anything out of even the ugliest piece of wood or metal. When he was young he was a trick roller skater in the vaudeville acts. He was the guy skating in circles on a platform way up in the air, spinning a girl like a lasso around him. One night he let her slip and she flew right into the orchestra, leaving her silhouette torn into the bass drum head.
My favorite story of all though was one he told of the early Texas farmers and the ruthless bandits who terrorized them. This was a simpler time for sure, but there have always been evil men. These bandits and outlaws would feed off the weak and defenseless and demand more than any family should be forced to give.
Well, these farmers would have none of that. They met in secret and banded together with the local blacksmiths and started a company with one sole purpose in mind. Together they built a team of gunslinging robotic horsemen to protect the land and vanquish the bandits and outlaws once and for all. That company was Texas Central Positronics and this was its story.
